Sir Elton John wants to reunite the original cast of The Devil Wears Prada for the opening night of his musical version in the West End.
Invitations are making their way over to Hollywood, and now he and his co-producers are awaiting RSVPs.
‘We don’t know if Meryl Streep is coming but the invitation is there,’ said a source. ‘I think Anne Hathaway will be coming.’
The show will be a big night at the Dominion Theater on December 1, World AIDS Day, with Sir Elton, who wrote the music, and her husband David Furnish in attendance.
The stage version stars Vanessa Williams as fearsome editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, the role Streep made famous, and Georgie Buckland as aspiring journalist Andy, originally played by Hathaway. Emily Blunt was also Emily’s assistant.
The musical began in Chicago in 2022, and the musician hopes to enjoy a New York run. At the Fortnum & Mason Salcombe Gin party, Georgie tells me: ‘We’re hoping it will be transferred to Broadway. That is the aim, that it will go over.’
Real designer clothes from 2005, when the action is set, are being used on the show – but my source tells me they will be kept under lock and key.
‘No expense is being spared on the show,’ they said. ‘But there will be a robust inventory so nothing is missing, just in case a member of staff tries to borrow a handbag for the evening.’

The favor is repaid when Kate signs Nepo Ned Sims’ baby
Kate Moss is clearly unconcerned by the ‘nepo baby’ controversy, as the supermodel-turned-agent has signed the son of the man who made her famous.
Her agency now represents Ned Sims, son of photographer David Sims, who shot 17-year-old Kate in 1993 for her Calvin Klein head campaign.
Trustworthy enough, Ned – who is 5ft 11in on the small side for a male model – went straight from being an unknown to being the face of Zara’s autumn/winter 24 campaign. Before this big job, Ned had only ever appeared in the niche fashion magazine Homme.
Moss has several nepo children – the derogatory term for people who are considered to have benefited from nepotism – on her books, including her own ‘mini me’, Lila Moss.

Soprano Charlotte is now a moon lion
From performing for President Clinton in 1999 to waving incense sticks at the moon, has Charlotte Church undergone a spiritual transformation?
The singer, 38, seems to have gone completely woo-woo as she led a ceremony celebrating the full Pisces Moon in Wales last week.
‘Imagine that you are [on] some sort of path or bridge to the moon taking you up into the sky,’ Charlotte, right, told the crowds as she walked barefoot along Barra Island Promenade, swaying and swaying as she did.
Then the soprano passed around a coconut bowl filled with petals, which the attendants scattered into the sea.
Finally, headphones were distributed for a silent disco, all in aid of the Charlotte Anwen educational Project.

Toyah’s £36 kiss isn’t strictly personal
Punk star and fierce competitor Toyah Willcox, left, has started teasing ‘kisses’ at £36 a pop.
But don’t expect a real smooch: fans get a piece of A5 paper that she kissed while wearing red lipstick.
But not everyone likes the money she is making. ‘I wish she wouldn’t embarrass herself,’ wrote one cruel commenter online. ‘From punk to money grabber!’

Maths Hannah finds her other half
Mathematician Hannah Fry has gotten over her divorce from husband Phil and found love again, I can reveal.
The professor told me: ‘I have a new partner, Oliver, I met on a dating app, so maybe kiss as many frogs as possible! Maybe love really is a numbers game.’
That experience certainly helped with a recent episode of her BBC Uncharted series, Love Bytes, which involved internet dating.
Hannah is about to return to Radio 4 with her series Curious Cases, with comedian Dara O’Briain as her new co-host.
Despite her divorce from husband Phil, mathematician Hannah Fry (pictured at the Hey Duggie event) has found love again.
Actress Amanda Abbington, right, sparked the bullying crisis that covered Strictly Come Dancing, so fans may be surprised to learn that she still watches the show.
The 50-year-old told me at the Future Dreams lunch she regularly pops in, saying: ‘I’m loving Nancy [Xu] and Gorka [Marquez] – it’s always very good. I was talking to some of the professionals, and put in my votes.’
It’s a sad day for David Beckham fans who like to see him half-naked, as the football icon has ditched his ice bath while wearing his Calvin Klein undies, right.
The barrel-like tub has been pulled from the garden of the family’s Cotswolds home and placed on a dump near a skip on the edge of the property, apparently ready to be taken to the tip.
Age is just a number if you’re ex-Bond girl Sue Vanner. The 73-year-old, who tackled Sir Roger Moore over a pile of fur coats in The Spy Who Loved Me, lists her age as 67 on her dating profile.
She started Raya, the members-only dating app used by celebrities, after her 32-year-old husband left her for a younger, pregnant woman.
Vanner’s ex-husband, property tycoon and reality TV star Warren Todd is 16 years her junior. She filed for divorce last year, seeking help from King’s divorce lawyers at Payne Hicks Beach.
